Red Numbers

Red Numbers

Today I was finally able to bring the score under par with a 70 (-2). It was a little strange round where I hit the ball really well but never came too close to the pin. My alignment has been a little off this week so I would hit shots slightly off target even though the contact was solid. Luckily I didn’t need the hit the ball close to the hole to make birdies today as I managed to make a few long putts for birdie, which is always fun.

I finished tied for 8th out of a field of 84 players and am fairly happy with the result coming off a 4 month ‘break’. It was great to finally play in a tournament again and I now have a good idea of what I need to improve for next tournament which takes off next week in Las Vegas. I feel that my shape is decent but there is a lot to fine tune in order for me to start playing really well. That work starts tomorrow with workouts in the morning and technical practice in the afternoon!

After we all finished the round we headed straight for the vans and headed north back to Las Vegas. My team did not do great but still we had a lot of fun. I love being on the road with my teammates. Next week we get to sleep in our own beds as we will be playing in our home tournament UNLV Spring Invitational. With so much traveling coming up soon it will be nice to stay home during a tournament. At this particular tournament I have a title to defend, so I know what this weekend will be all about: practice and more practice!
