The Show Is On

The Show Is On

First round today went well with a 72 on the scorecard. I hit the ball really well and managed to make all fairways but two. Unfortunately those two fairways I missed resulted in a bogey and a double because I happened to run into the desert ‘hazard’.

The one double of the day came on hole 18 which gave a bad ending to an otherwise well played round. I was really happy that I was able to hit it close and to make the birdies I needed; after all I was a little nervous to see how it was going to go after 4 months of no tournaments. I am currently tied for 8th with 3 shots up to the leaders. Tomorrow is moving day!

I really enjoyed myself out there today and loved to play competitively again. The conditions were perfect with high sun and just a little breeze. In the morning it looked slightly different: as we arrived to the golf course the whole course was covered in frost. Luckily we only had to go through a 20 minute frost delay before teeing off. As a team we did okay and are currently in 5th place out of the 15 teams.

After everyone on the team was done playing we all spread out to warm down for a good hour before heading back to the hotel. My teammate Katerina and I then headed straight to the gym to work out before dinner. Now back in the hotel room the clock is only reading 8.30 pm, but it seems to be close to bedtime. I am excited to see what tomorrow will bring, teeing off at 10 am. For now, goodnight from California!
