Ready for another Season

After missing the LPGA, I can now look forward to the Symetra Tour in 2013, and despite the disappointment I am very optimistic about the year to come.

It is a while since I played the final stage of the LPGA qualifier, and unfortunately it didn’t go as I had hoped. Because it wasn’t that exciting news to report, I have not been very fast about writing this blog, but better late than never :)

I was lucky to have my coach Thomas Larsson on the bag who was a great caddie. Unfortunately though, the caddie couldn’t do it all, and my scores just weren’t quite there. I didn’t play bad and in three of the four rounds, the game was much better than the score showed. My putting for the week was off, so I never got to capitalize on the birdie chances I had, and when I got into trouble I didn’t save the par. My scores for the tournament were 73-75-73-74 to finish just one shot short of the cut for the final round. The icing on the cake was missing a 7-footer on the final hole to end just barely on the wrong side of the cut line, a putt very descriptive of my week. I wouldn’t have to look hard to find at least 8 shots out there, but that is golf sometimes.

It was disappointing to have come so far and not make it all the way, but nonetheless I am very optimistic and motivated towards this upcoming year on the Symetra Tour. It was a tough blow, but I am not too devastated by the outcome at qualifying school because I am confident I will make it in time. Meanwhile I still have a lot to learn and improve, so another year on the Symetra Tour will do me a lot of good I am sure. Earlier this year I had no idea what I was going into, how I would do, and how I would like playing professional golf. Looking back now, it has been an amazing experience and I have absolutely loved it. I haven’t played great throughout the year, but I feel like I can be very happy with my first year as a pro. Next year I know what I am going into, and the goal is clear: top-10 at the end of the year and a ticket to the LPGA for 2014. With hard work and a small portion of luck I am sure it is possible :)

After the qualifier in Florida I flew back to Denmark where I enjoyed two weeks of vacation with my family. It is always great to come back home, and with all the snow there, it really felt like Christmas. After the two weeks at home, I flew back to Arizona where I am excited to be spending Christmas with Patrick and his family for the first time.

I want to thank everyone so much for the support this year. It means the world to me, and I hope that you want to keep following me in the years to come. For now I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
