3-putts Everywhere

3-putts Everywhere

This has been a long tournament where several things did not exactly go my way in Half Moon Bay, California. Coming in the tournament I was not feeling well having a very tight shoulder and a throat that hurt a lot. Thus, going in to the first round I did not feel like playing golf at all, and this showed with an awful start to the round. After 5 holes I was 4 over par, but by then grabbed a hold of myself and started playing better. The game kept on improving the second round of the day, but even though I hit the ball well, it seemed my putter was not with me. I had 5 3-putts that day, which is unusual. In the two round I had 34 and 33 putts respectively which is 4-5 putts more than what I should be having. This was extremely frustrating to say the least and made it hard for me to score low, even though I hit it close several times.

On the second day and final round I was a lot more ready to go from the beginning. Unfortunately the spotter on the hole I started on was not. I hit my drive left and with no spotter to see where in the rough it landed I lost my ball and had to take a double on the hole. Not exactly the dream start I had hoped for. I managed to play well the rest of the round and was 1 under for my last 17 holes. Once again however, my putter did not go in the direction I wanted to so I definitely have some work ahead of myself before Conference. Being +7 for the tournament was definitely not good enough even though it gave me a 6th place finish. However, not feeling the best it was a decent effort in pretty tough conditions with a lot of wind from the ocean.

Back in Las Vegas after the short trip a doctor’s visit and blood test showed that I have a hefty virus going on, so I am on antibiotics for the second time in two weeks, this time with a stronger dose. Hopefully the medicine should get rid of my swollen throat and back on tract physically. Besides being sick however, I have a fun weekend ahead with one of my best friend’s wedding this Saturday. I will be a bridesmaid at the wedding and thus have a bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, and the wedding to look forward to! And also of course: Masters Weekend :) I love this tournament and it will be extra fun watching it this year as I played on Augusta National almost one year ago.
